Developer Epuron has won approval for the up to 284MW Yass Valley wind farm in Australia.
The New South Wales project will feature 79 turbines up to 150 metres with hardware up to 3.6MW in the pipeline.
Epuron said it would press ahead with construction of the project which is located along the Coppabella ridges north of the Hume Highway.
Initially envisaged as a 124-turbine project featuring two further clusters, the Planning Assessment Commission has favoured a smaller project.
Epuron executive director Martin Poole said: “It’s time to deliver on the NSW Renewable Energy Action Plan. NSW must start to proactively capture the important jobs and investment from large scale wind energy projects which to date have mainly been secured by other states.”
