Pattern Energy Group has started construction of the 150MW Lanfine wind farm in Alberta, Canada.
Lanfine is expected to enter full commercial operation by the end of 2022.
The project will feature 35 Vestas V150-4.3MW turbines.
Lanfine will be located to the south and west of Oyen in Special Area Three, the company said.
Pattern said the wind farm represents a projected investment of roughly C$350m (€243m) bringing lasting and diverse economic benefits, including up to 200 construction jobs.
In addition to employment and contracting opportunities, Lanfine will generate landowner revenue and provide tax revenue to the local community, which will directly contribute to education, community services, roads, and first-responder capabilities.
A Community Benefits Program funded by the project will support local initiatives and community-based organisations.
