Wind Quarry has sold the 103MW Willow Creek wind farm in South Dakota to Pattern Development.
The project, which is located on approximately 20,000 acres of private ranch land in Butte County, will interconnect with the Western Area Power Administration 115kV transmission line.
Pattern said all major construction permits required for the wind farm are complete.
About 175 jobs will be created during peak construction, with up to nine long-term operations and maintenance positions once the project is operational.
Wind Quarry chief executive Patrick O’Meara said: “This purchase agreement helps pave the way for construction of the Willow Creek project.”
Pattern Development chief executive Mike Garland said: “We are thrilled to acquire our first wind project in South Dakota and look forward to working with Wind Quarry and the local community to develop the Willow Creek Project, creating jobs, economic spending, and a new source of energy in Butte County.”
