Pennant Walters has filed a planning application to the Welsh government for its 34MW Mynydd Carn-y-Cefn wind farm.
Up to eight turbines are proposed for the project, located in the Blaenau Gwent region.
The Welsh developer said the overall capacity would provide enough electricity to power the equivalent of up to 21,084 households.
A 30-year operational life is being sought for the scheme, which is now under review as a Development of National Significance by Planning and Environment Decisions Wales.
Pennant Walters director of environment and sustainability Meryl Lewis said: “We’re grateful to the people of Blaenau Gwent who came to speak with us about our plans. We are proud of the application which will make a significant contribution to the renewable energy targets of Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council and Wales as a whole.
“Pennant Walters is committed to engaging with the communities we operate within, and we place great value on their feedback.
“We will continue to engage with the community regarding a community benefits fund, which will provide further support in the area for local projects once the wind farm is operational.”
The developer also recently launched a consultation process for its proposed eight-turbine 34MW Mynydd Llanhilleth wind farm in south Wales. It plans to submit a full planning application to the Welsh government in early 2023.
