PNE Wind has finished the Waldfeucht/Selfkant wind farm repowering project in Heinsberg, Germany.
The project involved replacing five old DeWind D6 and Enercon E44 wind turbines commissioned in 1999 with more modern and powerful units with a total output of 12MW.
PNE Wind selected three new Vestas V112 turbines with a nominal output of 3MW each and a hub height of 140 metres. The turbines are for PNE Wind’s YieldCo and will be initially operated for its own account.
The fourth Vestas V112 turbine, also with an output of 3MW has a hub height of 119 metres and was built for a project company of the Frauenrath group, a service provider.
