Highland planners have recommended approval of revised plans for Infinergy’s 39MW Tom nan Clach wind farm in the north of Scotland.
Members of the south planning application committee meet on 14 December to consider a new 13-turbine layout at the wind farm, which already holds consent for 17 machines.
The Contracts for Difference winner south of Inverness will under the revised proposals feature 3MW turbines with 125-metre tips. Current designs are for less 110-metre units of 2.3MW each.
“This revised scheme overall will not significantly alter the impacts created by the already consented scheme and is therefore not considered to be significantly detrimental either on its own or when taken cumulatively with other developments in the area,” said planners.
SPAC members will also vote on RES plans for 13 turbines at Culachy.
A decision originally scheduled for last month was postponed in order for a site visit, which will be held this week. Planners have recommended approval of the 44MW project near Fort Augustus.
