PPC Renewables Romania is expanding the Deleni wind farm in Vaslui County, the largest wind project in Romania’s Moldova region, with a second phase adding 85MW of capacity.
The development will see 14 new turbines of 6.1MW each installed near Bogdănița, boosting the total capacity of the site from 140MW to over 225MW.
PPC Renewables Romania general manager Adrian Dugulan said: “We continue to take concrete steps in developing our portfolio and remain the first major private investor contributing to the regional development of Moldova. After the first stage of the 140MW wind farm in Deleni, we are expanding the investment by another 85MW through this project. Thus, we contribute over 225MW of green energy to the national energy mix and support the reduction of the production capacity deficit in the north of the country.”
The expansion forms part of PPC Renewables Romania’s wider growth strategy, which has seen its portfolio reach more than 1.3GW across wind, solar and storage. Once both Deleni phases are completed, the company will surpass 1.5GW of renewable capacity.
Parent company PPC Group is accelerating renewable growth across Greece, Romania, Italy and Bulgaria, with total installed capacity rising from 4.7GW in early 2024 to 6.3GW by mid-2025. The group aims to reach 11.8GW by 2027, with 3.7GW of projects currently under construction or ready to build.
