Danish Wind Partners has been appointed engineer and project manager for the first phase of the 94MW Overgaard 1 wind farm repowering in north-east Denmark.
SE Blue Renewables, a joint venture between the Danish energy company Norlys and Denmark’s largest pension company PFA Pension, is developing the project in the Randers municipality.
When fully completed, Overgaard 1 will be Denmark’s largest onshore wind farm.
“With the extensive experience and proven track record of the partners of Danish Wind Partners, we are pleased to bring them onboard to assist us in the successful implementation of our project,” said SE Renewables chief executive Jan Bach Jensen.
Danish Wind Partners co-founder Niels Baden Rorholm added: “SE Blue Renewables is a leading operator and developer of Danish onshore wind, and we are pleased, that our integrated project management and partnering approach was recognised by SE Blue Renewables with our appointment.”
Vestas is delivering 16 V126-3.6MW turbines for the first phase of Overgaard 1 and will service the machines for 20 years.
Deliveries are due to being in the second quarter of 2020 and commissioning is planned by the middle of next year.
The deal is the second won by Vestas for projects from Denmark’s recent technology-neutral auction.
Overgaard will feature a total of 26 turbines once completed, quadrupling the site’s current capacity.
