Senvion has sealed a 100MW framework agreement with developer Prokon covering wind farms in Germany.
The turbine manufacturer has signed off on an initial 69MW of the deal, which includes 21 turbines in the 3MW-class.
Four projects will be commissioned between 2016 and 2018 and will in total feature one Senvion 3.2M122, five 3.0M122s, eight 3.4M114s and seven 3.4M140s.
The latter was launched last year and “with a new pitch system and sound optimized serrations on its blades is particularly suitable for low-wind locations as well as forested and mountainous areas,” said Senvion.
Prokon cheif executive Heiko Wuttke said: “With Senvion we have found a partner that suits us very well. This refers both to the wind turbine technology and to the cooperation in the operation of wind farms.”
He added that the Prokon cooperative is active with its projects in regions with very different wind potentials so “it is important for us that our wind turbines meet all these different challenges”.
