Vattenfall has commenced full commercial operations at the 228MW Pen y Cymoedd wind farm in Wales.
The project, which is located in upper Rhondda, consists of 76 Siemens 3MW direct drive machines with 89.5-metre hub heights.
It will employ 20 people for the lifetime of the project, Vattenfall said.
Vattenfall project director at Pen y Cymoedd Will Wason said: “To get to this stage of the project safely and on schedule is obviously very important to Vattenfall and our contractors.
“Pen y Cymoedd will power on average 188,000 homes every year across the nation with climate smart electricity and boost action on climate change.”
