Investment platform Qualitas Energy has acquired two wind projects in Germany with a total capacity of 80MW.
The projects comprise a wind farm near Hamburg that will be repowered as well as a greenfield wind project in Blumberg.
Qualitas Energy Deutschland has completed the acquisition of close to 90% of the Apensen wind farm, to be repowered, after reaching an agreement with around 570 shareholders.
The repowering will increase the wind plant’s capacity.
These two projects bring the company’s portfolio in Germany to 50 wind power projects.
Around 1600MW of wind projects are under development and more than 350MW consists of assets in operation.
Niklas Hinz, Investment Director at Qualitas Energy Deutschland, said: “Our fund Q-Energy V (QE V) continues to invest in German and international renewable energy projects and reinforces our commitment to the transition to a decarbonised economy.
“We will acquire more wind farms with a focus on repowering and significantly expand our portfolio of greenfield projects.”
