Renewable Power Capital (RPC) has signed a grid connection deal with Eon paving the way for up to 561MW of new wind capacity in the Solleftea and Kramfors municipalities in Sweden.
The parties have agreed on the costs and the schedule for the electricity connection of four wind power projects, Sörlidberget (132MW), Knäsjöberget (92.4MW), Vitberget (171.6MW) and Storhöjden (165MW).
The connections of the four wind farms is one of the largest connection deals that Eon Sweden has signed, said Martin Höhler, CEO of Eon Energy Distribution.
“The connection agreement with E.ON is an important milestone on our path towards completing these four wind farms. We look forward to working closely with Eon on the construction,” said RPC CEO Bob Psaradellis.
Preparation of site will begin in the autumn and groundwork will start in the spring of 2023.
The work includes the construction of a completely new main transformer station in Nässe, south-east of Långsele.
This will be done in close collaboration with the Swedish authority Svenska kraftnät, which will build a new 400 kV station.
At the same time, 80 km of new 130kV power lines will be built from the wind farms to the station in Nässe.
In addition, Eon will build three regional grid stations and an additional six km of 30kV line in the area of the wind farms.
The connections have to be completed in time for the commissioning of the windfarms, expected during the second half of 2025.
