RES has committed to building parts of its 140MW portfolio of consented onshore wind farms in the UK post-subsidy market.
The independent developer said recently approved schemes will be “some of the first in the country to come forward in the post-Renewables Obligation era on a no-subsidy basis”.
It added: “RES believes there is an appetite in the market for viable projects that can be delivered through corporate power purchase agreements or on the wholesale price of electricity alone.”
The developer said competitive projects should be able to proceed at prices as low as £49.40/MWh “and beyond”. It added: “We have a strong client base that we look forward to working with.”
Recently consented wind farms in the RES portfolio include the 48MW Hill of Towie 2 in Moray and 28MW Blary Hill in Argyll and Bute, both in Scotland.
