RES has sold its consented 47MW Corlacky Hill wind farm in Northern Ireland to Italian developer ERG for an undisclosed fee.
The 11-turbine scheme near Swatragh in County Derry marks ERG’s third acquisition from RES in the country adding to 23.5MW Craiggore and 46.8MW Evishagaran, both of which came online earlier this year.
RES will provide ongoing management services to all three projects as well as overseeing construction of Corlacky Hill, due to begin in early 2024.
The wind farm is expected to inject around £10m into the local economy during its construction phase, the developer said.
RES UK and Ireland managing director Lucy Whitford said: “In Northern Ireland, RES has developed and/or constructed 22 onshore wind farms equating to over a quarter of Northern Ireland’s onshore wind capacity, and has a record of using local companies to develop, construct and operate renewable energy projects.
“We are thrilled to have reached agreement with ERG for Corlacky Hill Wind Farm. The sale represents our growing relationship and combined investment in renewables, consolidating our common efforts to deliver affordable zero carbon energy and sustain local communities.
“We look forward to starting construction and helping ERG in managing the wind farm when it becomes operational.”
