RWE and French pharmaceutical company Sanofi have signed a 20-year wind power purchase agreement (PPA).
Under the deal, RWE will supply 21GWh of green electricity annually from the Chemin de Châlons 1 wind farm in Marne to help Sanofi advance its energy transition objectives.

The 20-year contract became effective earlier this year.
RWE’s head of commodity solutions for the UK, north and south Europe Olaf Lubenow said: “A 20-year contract represents a long-term commitment and is a testament to the mutual trust between the signatories.
“This PPA highlights the relevance and competitiveness of renewable energy, particularly onshore wind, in supporting the growth and decarbonisation of French industry without relying on state subsidies.”
