RWE has started operation of the Rozdrazew wind farm in Poland, following 14 months of construction.
The 16.8MW Rozdrazew is RWE’s sixteenth wind farm in Poland, taking its installed wind capacity in the country to 410MW.
“I would like to thank the whole team for the great work. It makes me proud that we are constantly expanding our green generation portfolio with new plants.
“This is another milestone in supporting the country’s energy transition. With our three wind farms, which are scheduled to go into operation this year, we are significantly expanding our position in the field of renewable energies in Poland,” said Wojciech Borkowski, who is responsible for the construction of onshore wind farms in Poland at RWE.
In western Poland, about 100 km from Szczecin in the municipality of Mieszkowice, RWE is building another wind farm, the 7MW Wierzchlas project, which has a 15-year CfD.
In addition to the Wierzchlas wind farm, which is currently under construction, RWE expects the approvals for the Dolice (48MW) and Lech Nowy Staw 3 (12MW) wind farms.
In addition, the company will start construction of the Znin project (48MW) this year.
RWE is also investing in photovoltaic projects and plans to build new solar projects with a capacity of more than 80MW in 2022 and in 2023.
