Saudi Arabia’s Renewable Energy Project Development Office has shortlisted 51 companies for round one of the country’s National Renewable Energy Program.
A total of 27 companies have qualified for a 300MW solar project, while 24 companies are shortlisted for a 400MW wind farm.
They now proceed to the request for proposal stage as so-called managing or technical members.
Companies that failed to be shortlisted could still be involved in the projects as part of consortium formed by qualifying entities.
A total of 128 companies applied for the first round.
Companies shortlisted for the wind project include Acciona, EDF Energies Nouvelles, Enercon, Enel Green Power (EGP), Gamesa, GE, Goldwind, Iberdrola, Masdar, Siemens and Vestas.
Acciona, EDF EN, EGP, Iberdrola and Masdar are also in the running for the solar project. Other companies shortlisted include Canadian Solar, Hanwha Qcells, Jinko Solar, Mitsui & Co, Marubeni Corp and Trina Solar.
