Senvion is to supply 93 turbines to Mainstream Renewable Power for two wind farms totalling 300MW in Chile.
The German manufacturer will supply 50 Senvion 3.4M114 turbines for the 170MW Sarco wind farm in the Atacama region of northern Chile.
The project is scheduled to be complete in spring 2017.
Senvion will also supply 43 3.0M122 units to the 129MW Aurora wind farm located in the Los Lagos region in southern Chile. The project is also expected to be complete in spring 2017.
Both wind farms are owned by Aela Energia, a joint venture between Actis (60%) and Mainstream Renewable Power (40%).
The contracts are currently still under “conditions precedent”, Senvion said.
Senvion chief executive officer Jürgen Geissinger said: “South cone South America is a key part of this strategic growth plan, and with this major contract in Chile, we prove that Senvion is well positioned to expand our activities in our new markets outside of Europe.”
