Nordex has confirmed a deal to supply seven N100/3300 turbines to Statkraft for the latter’s first wind farm in Ireland.
The German turbine manufacturer will deliver the units for installation in the summer of 2019 at the 23.1MW Kilathmoy project on the Limerick and Kerry border.
A 20-year service agreement is also included and the project is expected to enter operations by the end of next year.
Construction is underway at the site acquired by Statkraft recently in its purchase of the Element Power development portfolio of Irish and Scottish onshore wind.
“We are delighted to be working with Statkraft on Kilathmoy, their first project in the Irish market,” said Nordex chief sales officer Patxi Landa.
“We look forward to successful collaboration on this project and we hope it is the first of many opportunities to work together as Statkraft continues to grow their presence both in Ireland and further afield.”
