Siemens has confirmed two orders for onshore wind projects in Ireland totalling 172MW.
The deals first reported in subscriber-only newsletter reNEWS early last year include delivery of 36 D3 direct drive 3MW wind turbines for SSE’s Cloosh Valley wind farm – also known as Galway Wind Park Phase 2 – and 20 SWT-3.2-101 units for the Irish Sliabh Bawn wind farm in County Roscommon.
Commissioning of the Cloosh project is scheduled for mid-2017; Sliabh Bawn for early 2017.
Both orders include 15-year service agreements, including Siemens’ advanced remote diagnostics.
