Siemens Gamesa has secured an order to supply 12 turbines for the 51.6MW Kamiyuchi project in Hokkaido, Japan.
The German-Spanish company said the direct drive onshore unit will work well with the high winds at the project.

The deal brings Siemens Gamesa to 145MW of orders in the country for the first eight months of the year.
“With a track record of success for more than 20 years in Japan, Siemens Gamesa is committed to supporting customers and partners to develop the Japanese wind industry as the country drives forward power market reform,” added the company.
The current 51.6MW is the largest wind farm being developed by Cosmo Eco Power, a Japanese pioneer of renewable energy since 1997.
