Siemens Gamesa is to supply Enel Green Power with 60 turbines totalling 249MW for the Parque Amistad 3 and 4 wind farms in Mexico, the first order for the new 4X model.
The deal covers supply of 24 4.5-145 machines rated at 4.2MW for the 100MW Parque Amistad 3 and 36 of the same model for the 149MW Parque Amistad 4 project located in Acuna City in Coahuila state.
Both contracts include a five-year service and maintenance agreements.
Nacelles will be manufactured in Spain and China, while the blades and towers will be built locally in Mexico, the company said.
Siemens Gamesa onshore managing director for Mexico and Latam Jorge Lobaton said: “We are very excited to be able to provide our new generation of onshore wind turbines to Enel Green Power’s projects.
“We look forward to the successful implementation of Amistad 3 and 4. These projects are two of the most relevant wind farms projects in Mexico, which will position the state of Coahuila as one of the main players in renewable energy in the country.”
