Siemens Gamesa has launched an investigation after one of its wind turbines collapsed at a project in Brazil.
The 49.3MW Arizona onshore wind project is located in Rio do Fogo in the state of Rio Grande do Norte.

The incident happened last Sunday and no injuries were incurred, Siemens Gamesa said.
The turbine manufacturer said in a statement: “On Sunday, January 30, Siemens Gamesa became aware of a wind turbine collapse – including its third section – at the Arizona project located in Rio do Fogo, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil.
“The customer was notified and there were no injuries.
“A safety zone around the turbine has been established and a full investigation is underway to determine the root cause of this incident.”
