Siemens Gamesa has won contracts with five customers to supply 200MW of wind capacity across several regions in Spain, including Zaragoza and Malaga.
The company will install a total of 63 wind turbines in seven wind farms located in Navarra, Valladolid, Zaragoza, Malaga and Cadiz.
Out of the 63 machines, 42 are the 3.4-132 model, 16 are the 2.6-114 model and five are the 2.6-126 model.
Siemens Gamesa will install 32 3.4-132 wind turbines in the Cavar wind project in Navarra, which is being co-developed by Iberdrola and Caja Rural de Navarra.
The project, comprising four sites with an installed capacity of 111MW, is located in the municipalities of Cadreita and Valtierra.
Siemens Gamesa will maintain the turbines for 10 years.
The company will supply 12 turbines – its 2.6-114 model – totalling 32 MW, to Alfanar Energy.
Nine of the turbines are for the La Escalereta II farm in Malaga and three of the turbines are for the La Estancia wind farm in Cadiz.
For Alfanar Energy Siemens Gamesa will operate the farms and provide maintenance services for 20 years.
In Zaragoza Siemens Gamesa has reached an agreement with Villar Mir Energia for the turnkey construction of the 12MW Tablares and the 15MW El Sotillo wind farms.
The company will also deliver six 3.4-132 wind turbines to Grupo Jorge for a 21MW wind farm in Pedrola, Zaragoza, and will provide maintenance services for 10 years.
In Valladolid Siemens Gamesa has signed an agreement with Falck Renewables to supply four 2.6-114 turbines for the 11MW Carrecastro wind farm in the municipalities of Tordesillas and Velilla.
Most of the blades for the 200MW-worth of deals will be made in Siemens Gamesa factories Spain, in Aoiz, in Navarra, and As Somozas, in Galicia, as well as in Tangier in Morocco.
All the nacelles will be produced at the Agreda plant in Soria, Spain.
With these contracts for 200MW, Siemens Gamesa has sold 1.2GW in Spain since the end of 2017, totalling 265 wind turbines, and now accounts for over 55% of Spain’s installed wind turbine fleet.
