Siemens Gamesa has signed service agreements for two North American wind farm sites hosting Senvion turbines, with a total of capacity of 184MW.
The 10-year agreements are with an undisclosed customer.
Both sites feature Senvion MM92-2.05 turbines and the agreements include service, maintenance and warranty with an availability guarantee.
Siemens Gamesa will carry out remote monitoring, supply chain access and speciality tooling, design and engineering support, and software updates, while using the existing hardware and infrastructure on site.
Siemens Gamesa service chief executive Juan Gutierrez said: “We are pleased to bring our service expertise to these sites.
“This contract builds on the success we’ve seen outside the Senvion acquisition scope and owning the intellectual property makes SGRE a natural choice to extend the lifetime value of those wind projects and improve the customer’s original business case.”
Since the acquisition of Senvion’s onshore European service assets and intellectual property in early January 2020, Siemens Gamesa has secured almost 1GW of service agreements outside of the “transaction perimeter” in the US, Canada, Australia and Europe.
Siemens Gamesa has nearly 72GW under service globally, including more than 10GW of multi-brand turbines.
In North America, the company provides service and maintenance to wind projects with a total output capacity of 13GW.
