Siemens Gamesa has used three blade lifters for the vertical transport of turbine blades for Capital Energy’s 50MW Buseco onshore wind farm in Spain.
This is the first time that blade lifter technology with 65-meter components has been used in Europe.

Using this method minimizes the environmental impact associated with the transportation of blade components, Capital Energy and Siemens Gamesa said.
Such practice is in line with both companies’ sustainability strategy and their commitment to the protection of biodiversity, they added.
The Buseco project, located in Asturias, is expected to start operating in the first third of 2022 and will feature 10 SG 5.0-132 turbines.
