This new wind farm will support the energy transition in Greece, a country with one of the most ambitious targets in renewable energy growth, with the aim of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 55% by 2030 and achieving climate neutrality by 2050.
Karkaros will produce clean energy to the equivalent of 30,000 households and help to avoid the emission of more than 92,000 tonnes of CO2 a year.
With this agreement, Siemens Gamesa reaches a total of 992MW of wind energy installed or under construction in Greece.
