Siemens Gamesa is supply 34 turbines to Akershus Energi and KLP’s Odal wind farm in Norway.
The Nkr1bn (€90m) deal covers delivery of 5.0-145 machines, that have been specially adapted for the project, the developers said.
The project is located in Nord-Odal municipality and is the first wind farm for Akershus Energi.
It is planned to be completed during 2021 and will cost Nkr2bn to build.
Akershus Energi owns 51%, while KLP owns 49% of the project’s development company Odal Vindkraftverk.
Akershus Energi Vind director Emil Orderud said: “We have made tough demands on the suppliers of turbines to contribute with the most sustainable and future-oriented solutions on the market.
“We want to use the latest available technology. In addition, we have emphasised that Siemens Gamesa is a solid player with 20 years of experience from deliveries to wind power projects in Norway.”
Siemens Gamesa Norway chief executive Ben Bjorke said: “The Norwegian market is very important to us.
“Norway is an ambitious climate nation, and the development of wind power is an important part of the green shift.
“In addition, the supply of expertise is very good. The experience from the petroleum industry is now being used to realise a green transformation of Norwegian industry.”
