Siemens Gamesa has won a contract to supply 96 SG 3.6-145 turbines to Azure Power’s 346 MW wind project in the state of Karnataka, India.
The turbine manufacturer is due to start supplying the machines from its 3.X platform in the second quarter of 2023.
It brings its total order intake in India to over 1.4GW.
Azure Power is developing the project, its first in onshore wind, under the SECI Hybrid 4 and SECI 11 tenders.
The developer holds a pan India portfolio of over 7.4GW of operational and under-construction renewable energy assets, primarily in solar.
