Siemens Gamesa has secured a turbine order for 567MW for two projects in India.
The order from independent power producer (IPP) ReNew Power includes the supply of 270 units of the 2.1-122 turbine model for a project in Bhuj, Gujarat and another in Davanagree, Karnataka.
Siemens Gamesa will provide the infrastructure and equipment needed to install and operate the wind power plants, both of which will come online in the first quarter of 2020.
Siemens Gamesa is supplying 127 turbines for the Bhuj project, which is 266.7MW in size and 143 for the project in Davanagree, Karnataka, which is around 300MW.
Siemens Gamesa India onshore wind chief executive Ramesh Kymal said: “Continued large orders from leading IPPs such as ReNew demonstrates customers’ trust in our capabilities, and encourages us to work on innovative technologies focused on delivering more value for our customers.”
The accumulated base installed by Siemens Gamesa in India recently topped the 5.5GW mark.
The orders for Bhuj and Davanagree form part of the order intake disclosed by the company in its 2019 results.
