Skyline Renewables has acquired 117MW of US wind capacity from NJR Clean Energy Ventures, a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources.
The wind farms are located in Iowa, Kansas, Pennsylvania and Wyoming.
According to Skyline chief executive Martin Mugica, the acquisition marks a geographical diversification of the company’s portfolio.
It is also the first tax equity financing fully negotiated by the renewables investor, with Capital One as tax equity partner.
The 117MW will grow Skyline’s wind portfolio to 803MW of controlled capacity since the company was formed earlier in 2018 as a partnership between Ardian and Transatlantic Power Holdings.
Skyline announced its first acquisition of Whirlwind Energy, a 60MW project in north-west Texas, in March 2018, followed by the acquisition of the 166MW Hackberry wind farm, also in the same area in September.
In October 2018 the company bought Starwood Energy’s 51% interest in the Horse Creek and Electra wind farms, both 230MW projects.
Mugica said: “We are ambitious, nimble and we have deep industry expertise.
“There are many promising opportunities ahead as we expand Skyline’s reach to different parts of the country with strong clean energy assets that will allow us to actively manage our assets and optimize returns.”
CCA Capital advised Skyline on tax equity financing.
