Nordex has secured a deal for 80 AW125/3150 turbines for two wind farms totalling 252MW in South Africa.
Enel Green Power has ordered 46 machines for the Garob project, while Elawan has booked 34 turbines for the Copperton facility.

Both deals include delivery and installation as well as multi-year service contracts.
Nordex said it will be produce the 100-meter concrete towers close to the project sites in the Northern Cape in order to lower costs and increase local manufacturing content.
Nordex chief sales officer Patxi Landa said: “South Africa is an important market for us, which is why we are pleased to be executing these two orders. We have been awarded turbine supply for a total of around 400MW in 2018.”
