SSE has reached the two-thirds mark with turbine installation at its 94MW Dunmaglass wind farm in the Scottish Highlands.
The utility developer has installed 23 of 33 GE 2.85MW turbines at the project south of Loch Ness.
Component deliveries began in May this year. The site is located around 700 metres above sea levels.
Site manager Ross Cowie said: “Being our highest wind farm means that, although there are many benefits like great views and strong winds, there are also some downsides when it comes to construction, particularly when the Scottish weather is not in our favour.
“The past few weeks have given us a great opportunity to get some more turbines up safely and means that we are now we only have 10 more to go.”
Turbine deliveries to Dunmaglass are expected to continue through early autumn with the site expected to become fully operational in early 2017.
