Statkraft and Alterric, Germany’s largest onshore green power producer, have concluded several long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) with terms of two to five years.
Under the agreement, Statkraft will purchase around 1.2TWh or 330GWh of green electricity annually from eleven wind farms with an installed capacity of almost 150MW over the entire term of the contracts.
The wind farms operated by Alterric are located in Brandenburg, Hesse, Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia and have been in operation for two to eight years.
Alterric is responsible for the projects’ development and construction and will operate the wind farms.
The long-term purchase of the green electricity generated ensures the economic operation of the wind turbines without any possible use of the market premium and at the same time allows the market use of guarantees of origin from Germany, Alterric said.
Statkraft will integrate this green electricity into the supply of companies in various industrial sectors such as transport, automobiles, optical and optoelectronic industries, glass production and building materials according to their individual requirements.

“Our customers can integrate Statkraft’s PPAs into their usual procurement strategy and do not have to fix the price when concluding the contract.”
