Statkraft has acquired the Energy Isles consortium’s proposed up to 200MW wind farm in Yell on the North Isles of Shetland in Scotland.
The under-development scheme consists of 29 turbines with a tip height of 200 metres.
The Energy Isles consortium submitted a Section 36 planning application to Scottish ministers in May for the project earmarked for operations by 2026.

Statkraft UK managing director David Flood said: “We are delighted to come to an agreement with Energy Isles and this fits perfectly with our onshore wind power strategy.
“We are sure that adding our experience and expertise will allow the development of the wind farm to continue to progress and we look forward to working together.”
Energy Isles is owned by a consortium of 54 Shetland companies including offshore wind shipping services outfit Delta Marine, Wind Turbine Services and Shetland Composites.
