Italian renewable energy company ERG posted a net profit of €61m in the first quarter of the year, up from €57m in the same period of 2016.
Revenue also rose to €303m in the first three months of 2017, compared with €295m last year.
However, earnings were down in the quarter to €151m from €163m last year.
ERG chief executive Luca Bettonte said the results were “satisfactory” given poor wind conditions in Italy and France compared with the high output recorded in the first quarter of 2016.
Favourable prices in Italy, particularly from output at the Terni hydroelectric complex, helped to boost the results, he added.
The company said it expects about 100MW of new capacity to come online by the end of the year.
