Suzlon has more than doubled the amount of onshore wind commissioned in its home market of India with 900MW installed in its last financial year, compared with 442MW in 2015.
The turbine manufacturer said of the 900MW commissioned in its 2016 financial year, some 520MW was commissioned in the first part of this calendar year.
Suzlon said the projects were executed for a variety of customers including Independent Power Producers, Public Sector Units and Small and Medium Enterprises.
Its S97 120m turbine with a hybrid tower led the pack with 31% (134 turbines) of all installations.
Suzlon chairman Tulsi Tanti said: “The 100% growth in our installations in India is higher than the 43% growth achieved by the industry. It is a testament of our hard-work, perseverance and the support of our customers, investors and the bankers. The efforts of my team towards business ramp up and execution have yielded results.”
