Suzlon Group is to supply 24 turbines totalling 50.40MW to an unnamed independent power producer for a wind farm in the Indian state of Karnataka.
The order is the first for Suzlon’s new 120-metre S111 2.1MW hybrid machine, which features a doubly fed induction generator.
The project is scheduled to be complete by June 2017, the company said.
Suzlon will deliver the project on a turnkey basis and also provide operation and maintenance services.
Suzlon chief executive JP Chalasani said: “This order is a testament of the faith and confidence reposed by customers in Suzlon’s technologically advanced products, execution and life cycle asset management capabilities.”
