Swire Renewable Energy has acquired Obelisk Energy Services, a renewable energy services company based in Cape Town, South Africa.
The acquisition also includes other related group companies in South Africa and Ireland.
Obelisk Energy Services provides high-quality maintenance, testing and support services, having supported more than 200 renewable energy development sites and more than 20 wind farms in South Africa since 2010.
The company provides wind measurement services, HS&E advisory services, statutory inspections, operational maintenance services and blade and tower services, as part of its product portfolio.
This acquisition will allow Swire Renewable Energy to consolidate its position in Africa following the purchase of Altitec Blade Services, which also has offices in South Africa, as well as establish a servicing footprint in Ireland.
