Thrive Renewables has completed its first-ever bond issue raising £3m to boost its generation capacity across the UK.
The company, previously known as Triodos Renewables, sold the five-year bonds with a 5.5% annual return in less than four weeks, it said.
A total of 418 investors participated, investing at least £250 each through the Ethex platform for so-called positive investments.
The bonds were secured against two operating wind farms in Strichen, Scotland, where locals could invest earlier than the general public.
Thrive owns 15 wind and hydroelectric projects across the country.
“I’m absolutely delighted with the result of our first ever bond offer which is the fastest fund raise in our history,” Thrive managing director Matthew Clayton said.
“We can put the funds released to work as we continue to grow, adding to our renewable generation capacity,” he said.
