Nordex has confirmed a mammoth turnkey deal to build the 475MW Nysater mega-farm in Sweden.
The German manufacturer will supply and install 104 N149/4.0-4.5 and 10 N131/3900 turbines to the project being developed by Eon and Credit Suisse Energy Infrastructure Partners.
The civil and electrical balance of plant scopes will also be tackled by Nordex under a full engineering, procurement and construction contract.
Hardware will be delivered with a mix of tower heights with a two-year service contract also included.
Nordex said the deal represented the largest order in its history.
“Nysäter is a lighthouse project in several respects,” said chief sales officer Patxi Landa.
“We see this major order as confirmation of the highly competiveness of our latest technology, the N149. The turbine passes the most extreme scrutiny and requirements of customers and financing banks in terms of bankability and technical and economic feasibility, and this in one of the most challenging markets in Europe.
“This deal also confirms our customers’ confidence in the Nordex Group and the capabilities of our team to deliver large and complex projects in challenging environment.”
“The great collaboration between the Nordex team and our team was a key success factor and enabled us to apply now the most updated technology with the N149,” said Katja Bartsch-Wünschel, Eon onshore wind director in Europe.
Construction has started at the wind farm and turbine installation will start in March 2020.
