Wind power in the UK set a new generation record on 10 December of almost 17GW, just 48 hours after setting the previous record, according to National Grid data.
National Grid said that there was 16,873MW of wind powered electricity generation between 7.30pm and 8.00pm on Tuesday.

The previous record had been set on 8 December, when 16,162MW of wind power was recorded in the evening.
Prior to December, the record had been 15.32GW achieved on 8 February this year.
