French wind operator Valeco has renewed its contract with Sereema, a provider of artificial intelligence-based wind turbine monitoring systems.
The company said it will triple the quantity of Windfit connected boxes, currently deployed at five wind farms.
Valeco first equipped its turbines with the system in 2017 when Sereema launched the product.
The company operates more than 380MW of capacity, comprising 131 wind turbines.
Valeco head of operations Sebastien Appy said: “The choice to install Windfit on more turbines is linked to our goal of asset production optimisation while keeping a close operational monitoring so as to reduce the wear on the machines.
The digital platform is included in the subscription for Windfit, which displays in one single web page all the relevant information extracted from the data gathered by sensors embedded in the Windfit box.
“When Windfit is permanently installed, as is the case with Valeco’s fleet, it becomes the asset manager’s autonomous assistant, doing the monkey work, while they turn to optimisation and lifetime extension issues,” said Sereema chief technology officer Bruno Pinto.
