Vestas has won a contract to supply, transport, install and commission turbines for an 84MW unnamed wind farm and client in Vietnam.
The deal is for 20 V150-4.2MW machines with 145-metre hub heights that have been customised for the site.
Construction is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2021, ahead of the current wind feed-in tariff deadline in Vietnam.
The order also includes a 20-year active output management 5000 service agreement, designed to maximise energy production for the site.
Vestas said it is also providing a yield-based availability guarantee to give the customer long-term business case certainty.
Vestas Asia Pacific president Clive Turton said: “Vestas is extremely excited about the current boom in activity in Vietnam’s wind market.
“We are thrilled to work closely with our customers and partners to bring our world-leading wind energy solutions to the market, helping Vietnam grow into a regional leader in clean energy.”
Vestas said the contract takes its firm order intake for the V150-4.2MW in Vietnam to over 600MW since the first order in March last year.
