Vestas has signed a contract to supply turbines from its EnVentus turbine platform to Tiligulska Wind Electric Plant, a subsidiary of DTEK Renewables, for the 126MW Tiligulska wind farm in Ukraine.
The deal includes supply, installation and commissioning of 21 V162-6.0MW machines, alongside a 20-year active output management 5000 service agreement.
Tiligulska is expected to be fully commissioned in the second quarter of 2022 and is located in the Mykolaiv region of Ukraine.
Vestas said the contract is its first EnVentus order in Eastern Europe.
The company has also delivered turbines for DTEK’s 90MW Botievska 1 and 110MW Botievska 2 projects, and the 100MW Orlivska wind farm in Ukraine.
Vestas Northern & Central Europe president Nils de Baar said: “Further highlighting the global applicability of the EnVentus platform, we’re proud to secure this first order for EnVentus turbines in the Eastern Europe region, and proud to be partnering with DTEK Renewables for their Tiligulska project.
“The delivery of Ukraine’s first V162-6.0MW turbines will be critical to the continued cost reduction for reliable, sustainable wind energy in the country and we’re pleased to be working with DTEK Renewables to accomplish that vision.”
DTEK Renewables chief executive Maris Kunickis said: “We are happy to present our new ambitious project with Vestas.
“For DTEK, Tiligulska WPP is a quality milestone, a proof of our growing expertise and our commitment to European values of Green transition.
“With the experience we have gained with our previous projects we have built a professional team, we choose the most innovative electrical equipment, and ensured the successful integration of the wind power plant into the energy system.
“This is our contribution to European integration of Ukraine and I believe that our new project will serve as a positive message to investors that they can and should invest into the Ukrainian green generation.”
