Vestas has started delivering turbine components for a 50MW wind farm in the Ulyanovsk region of Russia, according to the Russian wind energy association RAWI.
The project will feature 14 V126 3.6MW machines, RAWI said.

Gondolas for the turbines are being built at a plant in Nizhny Novgorod and will be delivered shortly to the project site, the association added.
It said that Vestas plans to start blade production at a new facility in Ulyanovsk later this year.
Until the new plant is operational, blades are being imported into Russia, while the first towers have been built in Spain and delivered to the project site, RAWI said.
In the future, the company plans to produce turbine towers at Krasny Kotelshchik in Taganrog, the association added.
