Danish manufacturer Vestas has secured a 162MW turbine supply contracts for a pair of wind farms in the US.
The firm and unconditional awards are for V110-2.0MW hardware and delivery is scheduled to kick off in the third quarter of 2017.
Some of the machines will be optimised at 2.2MW to “extract the maximum wind resource output”.
The customer and project names were not disclosed at the request of the contractor.
Nacelles, blade and towers will be produced at Vestas facilities in Colorado.
“The V110-2.0 MW is our flagship turbine platform in the US and the versatility of site-specific power mode combinations unlocks the potential of the wind conditions and increases site output,” said US and Canada president Chris Brown.
