Vestas has signed new 10-year and 12-year service agreements with Community Windpower for two operational wind farms in Scotland.
Vestas will deliver a long-term service agreement, ending in 2034, for the operation and maintenance of the 16 V90 wind turbines at Community Windpower’s 48MW Aikengall Community Wind Farm (pictured).
The agreement signed with the 18MWDalry Community Wind Farm will encompass the servicing of the wind farm’s six V90 wind turbines until 2032.
The Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service contracts are designed to ensure sustained performance of the turbines through regular preventative maintenance of the asset.
Vestas has been performing the operation and maintenance of both wind farms since their inception, over a decade ago.
The newly signed contracts are extensions of the current service agreements and will run for the rest of the projects’ lifetimes.
Chief operating officer and finance director at Community Windpower Ray Ball said: “Aikengall Community Wind Farm and Dalry Community Wind Farm are an important part of our portfolio and supporting Scotland in its ambitious aim of achieving Net Zero by 2045.
“Vestas is a trusted partner of Community Windpower, having delivered high availability and strong performance through the projects’ lifetimes so far.
“The AOM 5000 service agreements acknowledge Vestas strong position in the O&M area in Scotland and ensures that our Aikengall and Dalry Community Wind Farms will continue to reliably generate clean energy for the people of Scotland.”
