Vestas was supported by ice-breakers to deliver V162 blades to the Simo project in Finland

Vestas has received an order to supply EnVentus turbines to the 102MW Narpio Norrskogen wind farm, which is being developed by EPV Energy in western Finland.

The Danish manufacturer will supply, install and commission 17 V162-6.0MW turbines at the project, which is located in Narpio, near Vaasa on the western coast of the country.

Vestas will provide service through an over 30-year active output management 5000 agreement of more than 30 years.

Deliveries are expected in the second quarter of 2022, with full commissioning of the project expected by the end of the same year.

Vestas Northern and Central Europe vice president of sales north and west Juan Furones said: “We’re privileged to continue partnering with EPV Energy on the Narpio Norrskogen project, extending our collaboration with EPV as they develop another project with our latest technology.

“With over 1.3GW in EnVentus orders in Finland, and installations beginning in 2021, we are delivering the latest technology and ultimately delivering cost-effective wind energy to Finnish consumers.

“The long-term service agreement also continues to establish Vestas’ service offerings as industry-leading, maintaining optimal park performance well into the future.”

EPV Windpower managing director Frans Liski said: “Wind power is an important form of energy production for EPV Energy. EPV Energy takes responsibility for its wind farms throughout their life cycle and it is very important that we have a strong partner in Vestas going forward.

“We have had a good, long-term partnership with Vestas and we are pleased to continue working with them on our journey to a new zero-emission world.”
