Vestas has won an order from Korea Electric Power Corp. (Kepco) to build an 89MW wind farm in Jordan.
The manufacturer will install 27 V126-3.3MW turbines at the Fujeij wind farm in Al Shobak in the Ma’an area, it said.
Wind turbine delivery will start in the fourth quarter of next year and commissioning is expected for the third quarter of 2018.
The engineering, procurement and construction contract includes the works to connect the facility to the grid, Vestas said. It also comprises a 20-year active output management service deal.
Fujeij will be Jordan’s second-largest wind farm and will take Vestas’ installed capacity in the country to more than 200MW, according to the company.
“After successfully executing the 117MW Tafila wind power plant last year, we are extremely pleased that KEPCO relies on us to fully develop Jordan’s second largest wind farm,” Vestas Mediterranean president Marco Graziano said.
“The Fujeij turnkey project confirms Vestas’ EPC and long-term service capabilities as well as our growing presence in the Middle East.”
